Shortly after the release of his much beloved single “Blackbird”, “Chaos & Clarity” is Fletcher Reed’s short but sweet debut EP release on Aviary Bridge Records. All three tracks, “Chaos”, “Clarity” and “Everything in Between” have an emotive quality to them, achieved with celestial pianos, otherworldly sounds and organic percussive sections.

It’s difficult to pigeon-hole “Chaos & Clarity” into one genre. Though one could call it Lo-Fi Hip Hop from it’s drum sections alone, it’s bass lines, vocal takes and instrumentals reveal underlying Deep House influences, qualities that cement the EP’s emotional depth. Breaking our perceptions of what music “should” sound like, “Chaos & Clarity” instead shows us what music could sound like; A mishmash of sound palettes which best capture each artist’s unique headspace and sound, a feat which Fletcher Reed has already achieved.
