about

Hanimo bring his signature sound and all his effortless style to his latest project, “Blue Night At The Beach”. From the first note of the track one, “Skinny Dip”, the soulful and serene atmospheres wash over our ears. As foley sounds blend with dust bitten chords and are met with a downplayed break, a state of tranquil relaxation is imminent. As the foley fades it subtly leaks into the intro of track two, “Shutter Speed”. A somber beat with a perfectly saturated break and a powerful rumbling low end. The focus shifts to distant vocal shots and melting melodies of keys, all glued together with the fizzing overtones of foley and vinyl crackle.

To continue Hanimo’s exploration of a Blue Night At The Beach we are introduced to track three, “You’re My Miracle”. A more upbeat feeling track however still in keeping with the textured soundscapes of the previous beats. A swinging break supplies the walking pace and rhythm as keys and strings meander above with multiple grooves melting into and out of each other. Moving to the latter section of the Album and the penultimate track, “The Train Home” sees the only collaborative track on the album, featuring Metic. This upbeat track with warbling keys, luscious guitar riffs drifting to focus and heavy drum loop is a Lofi masterpiece and leads us beautifully into the finale of “Blue Night At The Beach”. The final track “Please Come Back Inside” is the essence of chill portrayed through a Lofi soundscape. From pulsing bass notes and down played breaks to twinkling keys and subtle horn stabs. Hanimo provides the excellence that has become synonymous with his name. Don’t miss your chance to give this project a listen!
